Game, Kittie in the Kegs

Identifier:
2018.26.10
Description:
Kittie in the Kegs is a game made up of seven plastic nesting barrels of various colors (from largest to smallest): yellow, pink, turquoise, dark blue, dark green, red, and pink. The three largest barrels have the following inscription on the flat surfaces on top and bottom: "Kittie in the Kegs, A Child Guidance Toy, No 80, Made in U.S.A." The smallest barrel contains a green plastic cat figurine, which appears to be glued in. All seven barrels unscrew into two halves.

The toy may have been created by Child Guidance Toys and manufactured by Archer Plastics. It was an educational toy to teach children how to match and stack pieces by size and color. According to a toy catalog for Child Guidance Toys, this game was part of "America's leading line of popular priced educational toys."
