Description:
Shell of the Textile Cone snail, a predatory venemous sea snail found in the southern Indian and Pacific Ocean around Australia, New Zealand, and French Polynesia.  These snails are capable of stinging humans and live specimens should not be handled.  

The shell of this specimen is 9 1/2 cm long.  It is white on the inside with a pattern of varying lines and triangles in white and light brown on the outside.
