Description:
Marcasite is an iron sulfide mineral found near the Earth's surface. It is similar to pyrite but has a different crystal habit, producing pyramid or tabular crystals. This specimen shows pale yellow marcasite nodules in shale. It was donated by Mrs. Leslie Pearl and was found in Norwood, Michigan.
