Playtex
Playtex was originally founded by Abraham Nathaniel Spanel as The International Latex Corporation in 1932 in Rochester. They began with various products such as gloves, hats, and swimwear. In 1940, ILC entered the women's underwear sector with the innovating Living Girdle, an indestructible girdle. In 1947, they restructured and Playtex became one of the four new divisions. They were the first brand to mention lingerie on TV in 1955. In 2006, Playtex was acquired by Energizer Holdings and in 2015 they spun out several businesses including Playtex into a new company called Edgewell Personal Care.
