Archival Collection #095 - Austin Lamberts Coral Collecting Collection contains photos and documents pertaining to the donor, Dr Austin Lamberts, an expert in Reef Coral Biology and a zoologist. It contains a business card, postcard, 3 scholarly publications written by donor, photocopies of field notes, water-proof paper forms with notes from field survey and original Enewetok notes. It also includes 6 black and white photos, and 19 color slides.
Dr. Austin Lamberts was a local man (WWII veteran) who worked for many years as a marine biologist surveying and studying coral reefs. He has collected approximately 1700 specimens and has described about 40 new species. In addition to these documents, the Museum has acquired some of his personal tools and equipment. Dr. Lamberts has also published 10-15 related works.
This collection was assembled by the donor for his own use as a zoologist after 1968.
