Description:
One pair navy blue Lt. Commander's wool shoulder boards with plastic wrapping. Each board has two metallic gold ribbons, a metallic gold five-pointed star, and brass button with embossed eagle decorating top surface. Reverse side has black living with black leather strap sewn to one end. Strap has brass snap on other end. Plastic wrapping is torn, and has white printing with 'GEMSCO' on front.;ACCEPT. RELEVANCE: These shoulder boards help to complete the dress uniform for a U.S. Navy aviator from the Korean War era. OTHER COLLECTIONS: We have shoulder boards from other branches of the military from this same time period.;Worn by donor's husband during tour of duty in Korean War..;1) 'GEMSCO'.
