Description:
Various shaped picks or examiners, used by a dentist for the inspection of teeth. These tools are considered pieces of realia, associated with Archival Collection #117, 'Study of Water Fluoridation and Dental Health'.;These tools were owned by Dr. H. Dean TRendley D.D.S. and used during Grand Rapids' participation in the milestone national study which proved the benefits to dental health of adding fluoride to a community's drinking water supply.;These tools were originally owned and used by Dr. H. Trendley Dean D.D.S., one of the principle researchers in the Grand Rapids Study on the effects of fluoride added to the drinking water supply on dental health. They were given to the National Institue of Dental and Craniofacial Research for the exhibition, 'The Fluoride Story'.;The documents and artifacts in this collection were amassed by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research
