Two holes for bolts which mount sign to post.;This sign designated one of the important automobile routes into and out of Grand Rapids before the advent of the interstate system. It may be used in the permanent Collecting: A-Z, A is for Automobiles exhibition.;Lettering reads, 'MICHIGAN / US / 16'.;Purchased by donor from Flat River Antique Mall in Lowell, Michigan.;Scratched into paint on front, 'DOUG LAFOREST/ SEPT 3, 1944 / 12:55 AM'. |
