This canvas contains the painted hand prints and first names of people throughout the Grand Rapids area who participated in events leading up to the 2010 Census. The Census Bureau had many events of this sort to raise awareness about the Census.;These painted canvases were created in Grand Rapids, and represent a local take on the importance of the nation-wide census. They were collected so that the GRPM would have some artifacts to document this historic undertaking, as well as to show the importance of multi-culturalism in our local community.
