Long Goblet Drum

Description:
Tall goblet shape is topped with stretched hide with large painted black dot in center. Hide is secured with red & yellow nylon roping to metal band beneath goblet cup shpae. Slender pedestal widens at bottom to a circular base, painted brownish red.;This instrument complements the museum's already significant collection of ethnographic instruments. It may be used in the permanent exhibition, 'Collecting A-Z: M is for Musical Insturments'.;Collected by the Musee de la Civilisation;The number '8' is written in green on hide membrane. |
