Description:
Pende arrows with spade-shaped arrowheads.;Accession file 4621 notes: "For added effectiveness the natives dipped their arrow tips in poison.";Part of accession 4621. The objects were collected by the donor while a missionary in the Belgian Congo, from 1922-1925. They were made by members of the Pende ethnic group, a Bantu people that live in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo.
