This fermenting pot is an essential cooking tool used by Koreans for making kimchi (kimchee) and other fermented food and drink. It is a dark brown, glazed clay pot with a lid that is glazed on the inside, but not on the outside.;Essential cooking tool used by Koreans. This item is sold in Korean American stores. It helps Korean Americans to perpetuate the culture of their homeland, and helps the museum to interpret Korean culture as it exists in Grand Rapids. To be considered for use in the Newcomers exhibit.
