Amber is a fossilized tree resin that dates back to 30-90 million years ago with some of the oldest specimens dating to 320 million years ago. It can often contain pieces of plants, insects, or other creatures that were trapped in the resin and preserved. Due to its color and appearance, it is often used in jewelry.
