Description:
Wide brimmed cone-shaped hat is made from woven grass. The edge of the brim is bound in red and black painted leather. The top of the cone is covered with painted red and black leatrher . There is a flat braided knob with fringed and a loop at the point of the cone. Two red leather chin straps are attached to the underneath of the straw.;To be used as a hands-on items for the Newcomers culture kit.;Purchased from local African-American art dealere for use as hands-on item for Newcomers exhibit culture kit;THe Fulani people of West Africa are herders. They wear these board brimmed hats to shade themselves from the hot sun.
