Pecking Chickens

Identifier:
E2006.1.148
Description:
Four light colored wooden birds on a wooden base. The base is held by a wooden handle with a string cord in the center that has a square wooden weight on the end. The movement of the weighted string makes the birds move up and down in a pecking fashion, as if they were pecking at the ground for feed. The birds are roughhewn in appearance. There are drops of an opaque glue-like substance by each bird giving them something to peck at and giving the appearance of feed.
