Description:
The Super Nintendo Entertainment System was released in North America in 1991 as a technologically superior successor to the original Nintendo Entertainment System. The SNES featured 16 bit graphics, advanced sound, and an upgraded controller with 6 buttons. The SNES competed with its primary rival the Sega Genesis for the hearts and dollars of gamers throughout the 1990s. It eventually became the best selling console of the era with almost 50 million units sold.
