Description:
Before the dawn of electricity, many 19th century homes used gas to light their home.This gas clock light clock fit over a gas jet, which cast its light through the opaque dial so the time could be read. Waltham Watch Company was an early American watch manufacturer founded in 1850 in Waltham, Mass. The state had a well-established clock industry. The firm was known as the American Watch Company from 1859 to 1885 which helps to date this particular clock.
