Product Packaging ➔ Pharmaceutical, The Woman's Tonic

Identifier:
H1459
Description:
This tonic was a product marketed to women to relieve menstrual symptoms and disturbances. The ingredients on the packaging are notable, as it contained almost 20% alcohol. As this product existed during the Prohibition era, it is likely that women were consuming "home remedies" such as this with high alcoholic content, for reasons beyond good health and could have led to problems of alcohol abuse.
