This collection consists of daybooks or account ledgers owned and used by Gerrit Harry De Graaf, a citizen of Grand Rapids, Michigan in the latter part of the 1800's through the early 1900's. Gerrit was a grocer by trade, he also served on the city's Board of Education, as a founding deacon of the Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, and as the city alderman from 1883-1889. This collection serves as a relatively complete record of De Graaf Grocery Store's business and customers from 1876-1924.
