Archival Collections ➔ Archival Collection #173 - Turner Richards Family

The collection contains genealogical materials tracing the ancestry of Hariette Richards, especially via her maternal grandmother Lucy B. Turner. Along with immediate records of Miss Richard's parents and grandparents, several booklets trace the history of the Turner family back to the early 1600s. Few of the documents are dated directly, although they certainly date to the late 1800s and early to mid-1900s. Miss Hariette Richards was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on January 18, 1867. She was the daughter of Alfred Sibert Richards and Charlotte Amy Richards, early settlers of Grand Rapids. She was educated in Grand Rapids Public Schools and attended both Olivet College and Chautauqua University. She later became a teacher at Union High School for many years.
