On July 4, 1976, celebrations for America's bicentennial took place nationally, locally, socially, commercially, religiously, and politically. The City of Grand Rapids created a joint celebration linking Grand Rapids Sesquicentennial to the Bicentennial.This collection concerns the Grand Rapids Bicentennial (American Revolution) and Sesquicentennial (Grand Rapids) Committee. This material was removed from the bicentennial office which was located at 54 Jefferson SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49502 (the former address of the Public Museum of Grand Rapids). Collection materials pertain to bicentennial commercial marketing, celebration events, and the items used for fundraising and promotion of celebration.
