Native American - Woodland ➔ Belt and Garters, Finger Woven

Description:
One belt and two garters, finger-woven using yarn. Woven in chevron pattern using dark teal yarn, and yarns in shades of brown and red; one garter uses a small amount of blue yarn in place of teal in part of chevron pattern. Garters have ~12 inch fringe. Belt has ~24 inch fringe. Donor states that these pieces were created by Mae Peters.

Belts and garters like these would have been worn as part of traditional regalia for ceremonial use.
