Art Fossils ➔ Framed Poster, Exotic Trilobites of the World
This framed poster is a teaching aid called "Exotic Trilobites of the World" and was published in 1993 by Paleo Arts Publications, Division of Mid-land Scientific. Trilobites are any of numerous extinct and mostly small arthropods of the subphylum trilobite that lived during the Paleozoic Era (541 - 252.17 million years ago) and are extremely common as fossils. Trilobites had a hard outer covering divided into three lengthwise and three widthwise sections. Their heads had two prominent compound eyes similar in structure to those of modern insects. This poster is an excellent reference for identifying the many specimens found in the Grand Rapids Public Museum collection.
