Description:
This is a black and white photograph of a Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad 4-8-4 steam locomotive numbered 5632. The "Burlington Route" logo is visible on the side of the engine.

The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad operated from 1849 - 1970, chiefly west of the Mississippi River, servicing the following states: Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming.

If the date recorded on the back of the photograph (April 28, 1963) is correct, the engine at this point in time was used solely for special occasion excursions. One source claims this engine was "scrapped in Chicago in the early 1970s" (http://www.steamlocomotive.com/lists/recent-losses.php, retrieved 01/21/2018).;Identifying information on back of photograph:
