➔ Photograph, Electric Streetcar, Michigan Railway
Black and white photograph of an interurban electric streetcar belonging to Michigan Railway Lines, car no. 110. Sign on side of car: “SPECIAL.”
Michigan Railway was reorganized as Michigan Railroad in 1919, so “Michigan Railway” painted on the side of the car suggests that this car predates the 1919 reorganization.
The Michigan Railway passenger station in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was located at the foot of Lyon Street NW.
Michigan Railway and Michigan Railroad provided interurban electric car transportation from approximately 1915 to 1930.
A white number "27" was recorded on the image before this print was created.
