Description:
This Lincoln Logs activity toy is in its original container with instruction booklet. It has, 53 wood pieces, and 2 red plastic roof gables. Lincoln Logs was invented by John Lloyd Wright, son of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright and advertised and presented as non-gender biased activity for both boys and girls, ages 5 to 10. Manufactured by Lincoln Logs, Chicago Illinois a Division Playskool Manufacturing.

TOYS! (2018 – 2019)
The Grand Rapids Public Museum will present an interactive, multi-generational exhibition of toys and games sure to rekindle childhood memories and spark the creation of new ones.  This GRPM original exhibit will feature toys and games from the museum’s collections in meticulously crafted displays representing childhood in different eras.

Investigate: Toys & Games (June 2018)
During the Investigate program, students will take the role of Museum curators and use close observation and critical thinking to discover the origin, meaning, and importance of real objects from the Museum’s Collection. Students will learn how to handle and study primary sources and will be pushed to consider how singular objects or groups of objects can tell meaningful stories about our place.

Objectives:
  • Students will be able to analyze primary sources (artifacts and photographs) and make inferences about the story or significance of the sources.
  • Students will make inferences about the value or learning lesson of various toys and games that have existed across time and cultures.
