In 1883 he married Edna Bradford and they settled in the Lawrence area. He appears near his parents in Wakarusa Kansas on the 1900 census, with his wife and widowed mother, listing himself as a "mineralogist," however his ads continued until January 1902, listing his Lawrence address. He died around 1908.
