Description:
Hematite is an iron oxide found in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. It is commonly black and dark gray but often displays streaks of red. This specimen is in quartz, one of the most abundant minerals found on continental rocks. It was found in Black Hawk, Colorado.
