This photograph was taken at Grand Rapids Counseling Services in Alger Heights of Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 24th, 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. It shows a sign on the door that reads "Urgest COVID-19 Notice: If you are experiencing the following symptoms please give us a call at 616-988-3433 to reschedule your appointment or do your appointment via phone: Fiver, Cough, Shortness of Breath". On March 23rd, 2020 Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer issues Executive Order 2020-21, also known as the "Stay Home, Stay Safe" order, which temporarily suspended all activities that were not necessary to sustain or protect life until April 13th, 2020. This included closing many businesses and requiring citizens to stay at their residences unless performing essential acts of service.
