Joseph Magnin Company
The Joseph Magnin Company was founded by Joseph Issac Magnin in San Francisco, California in 1913. Originally known as Newman-Magnin, the business began as a mid-range ladies' store and later went more upscale after World War II. In 1940, Magnin's son Cyril took over the business and in 1969 it was sold to Amfac, Inc. By 1984, the company filed for bankruptcy.
