A folding role film camera with a f 2.8 and a 45 mm lens.;Over the past 30 years the donor has amassed a collection of over 100 vintage cameras that he recently offered to the Grand Rapids Public Museum. The cameras are virtually all in excellent and working condition, as the donor would buy them at flea markets or yard sales and repair them himself. The collection mostly features pieces from the 20th century, and American, European, and Japanese models are represented. Most of the cameras are consumer models, and therefore provide a good representation of what types of cameras regular people would have been using at any given time. This collection is especially important because it provides the GRPM with an essentially complete history of film cameras, a technology that changed the world, but has now been almost completely supplanted by digital photography. The collection will be split between the Permanent and Education Collections, and will also enable the Museum to "upgrade" from some similar cameras already in the collection which are in poor condition.;'Futura' printed in silver lettering at the top front of the camera.;Mr. Myers spent thirty years building his camera collection. He collected them from around the country and donated them to the Grand Rapids Public Museum so others could enjoy them as much as he did.
