A head-shaped wood pendant is attached.;Confirmed by Raymond Silverman, Professor of History, Department of the History of Art, University of Michigan--Ann Arbor; tel: 734.615.9847.;Part of accession 4621. The objects were collected by the donor while a missionary in the Belgian Congo, from 1922-1925. They were made by members of the Pende ethnic group, a Bantu people that live in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo.
