Jingle Hooves

Description:
Black with blue, white, orange & red cloth tape, sewn together to form two loops. Loops are attached with pink thread. Cleaned animal hooves are drilled with small holes, through which nylon thread is strung to attach hooves to cloth tape. When shaken, hooves hit each other to create jingle or rattle sound.;This instrument complements the museum's already significant collection of ethnographic instruments. It may be used in the permanent exhibition, 'Collecting A-Z: M is for Musical Instruments'.;Collected by the Musee de la Civlisation
