Description:
This silk bonnet has artificial flowers underneath the brim and a bow on the top. It is decorated with pleats and gathers. This style of bonnet would have been worn to compliment a hairstyle of ringlets at the back of the head. During this time period hats and bonnets were worn both outdoors and indoors. This style of bonnet is an excellent example of fashionable headwear worn by women in the early 1800s.
