Description:
Eight string instrument with hollow gourd body (half sphere), wooden neck, bridge, and two posts. Stretched hide face. Face and end of neck decorated with cowry shells in the form of a human face. Gourd shows old cracks and sewn repairs. Strings are gut, attached to neck by leather and are side strung. Iron tacks used.
