Description:
Gray earthenware stein with a pewter lid. The lid is dome shaped with a finial on top and foliage pattern thumblift. Similar patterns decorate the lid as the thumblift. The stein's shading is created with a blue glaze and is covered throughout with a blend of images aforementioned in the decorative motif field. There are two plaque like shapes, one on either side with German writing on them. Possible recognized words are 'certain', 'openly', 'good' and 'encountered'.;GERMANY 378 (stamped on the bottom.)
