Description:
Kerrs Patent #3098 blackpowder revolver.;Kerrs Navy Revolver. This is a five shot, single action, blackpowder revolver firing a .36 caliber ball.;Stamped on left upper flat of the irregular octagonal barrel is an "L.A.C.". On the top flat of the barrel are the stampings, "L.A.C." and crown over "GP". Below the cylinder on right side "KERRS PATENT 3098". Below cylinder on left side "LONDON ARMORY".;The London Armory Company (LAC) produced 10,000 Kerrs. During the American Civil War the (LAC) was a major supplier of arms and munitions to the Confederacy. According to William Edwards in his book "Civil War Guns", the Kerr revolvers, with serial numbers between 3,000 and 10,000 were sold to the confederacy. The serial number of this revolver is 3098.;Maker: London Armoury
