Loose-fitting cotton shirt. The shirt is decorated with wine red, deep blue, and forest green flower patterns on a yellow background. The object has a deep V-neck, and is short-sleeved.;Primary Dutch and English trade commodity made into various garments on either East or the West Coast. Identified by Raymond Silverman, Professor of History, Department of the History of Art, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI 48824-1357; tel: 734.615.9847;"Guaranteed Dutch Java Print" is printed along the lower hem.;This object was given to the donor by the Committee for the Black Heritage Exhibit in 1971.
