Description:
Archival Collection #011 - Michigan Bell Telephone Company contains 10 artistic photographs depicting the area between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, Michigan along the US 131 as it existed in May 1987. The black and white photographs show farmland, churches, barns, exteriors of buildings, architectural details and graffiti on an underpass. All of the pictures were taken within a 15 minutes distance of U. S. 131 using a modern version of the hooded camera. The photographer and processor was Dennis Collins, a staff photographer and video cameraman for Michigan Bell Telephone Co. The photographs are mounted and were likely intended to be displayed in a gallery setting.
