Description:
Culver enlisted at the age of 29 in his hometown of Ionia Michigan in to Company E of the 1st Michigan Engineers & Mechanics on 9/3/1961. He mustered in as a 2nd Lieutenant and received promotion to 1st Lieutenant 7/14/1862. He resigned his commission and was discharged for disability 1/8/1864. Back of photo states "Murfreesboro Tenn. March 1863".
