Description:
Grant resided in Jackson Michigan where he enlisted 4/29/1861 at the age of 24. He received a commission to 2nd Lieutenant 12/6/1861 and switched from Company B to Company H. He received further commission 1/31/1862 to 1st Lieutenant. He resigned and was discharged for disability 7/17/1863.
