Description:
Typical of Niagara Falls tourist beadwork (also sold at tourist spots throughout the Gt. Lakes) follows popular shape of Victorian ladies bags with ribbon handle. Constructed of velvet front and back, cotton tape edging, cotton lining, beaded in stylized floral designs in multicolored round glass beads with some translucent sequins sewn on [bet.] flowers; flaps front and bakc are deocrative-opening is in center top. An extra pocket often inserted under one flap. Looped fringe sewn to edge. Designs same both sides. Style of floral representation makes use of shaded variations of bead colors, usually two tones of each color.
