Corundum is an oxide mineral that is one of the hardest minerals on Earth. It is often gray, white, or brown in color but gemstone varieties include rubies and sapphires. Magnetite is an iron oxide that is abundant in igneous rocks and is magnetic. The specimen was found in Chester, Massachusetts.
