Description:
Hematite is an iron oxide found in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. It is commonly black and dark gray but often displays streaks of red. This specimen is gray and red with radiating crystals. It was found near Lake Superior and fluoresces under ultraviolet light.
