Steel twin bed has head and footboard that are roller grain painted to simulate dark brown wood. There are four pieces: a. headboard: rectangular center supported by straight legs which are continuous with stiles. Then rounded aluminum strips channel set between center panel & frame. Two squat legs at each corner. Back is painted solid light brown with metal support rail attached to each leg just up from bottom. b: footborad has rectangular center panel surrounded by mtered ogee curved rails & stiles. Rounded aluminum strips are channel set between center panel, rail & stiles. Painted solid light brown. c-d: Two matching brown steel bed rails with flat, circular knobs at each end.;ACCEPT RELEVANCE: Metal beds are popular genre of furniture not represented in collection. Set demonstrates Metal Office's (Steelcase's) ability to adapt or change paradigms by producing residential furniture during the Depression.
