In original red and black cardboard box, with cables, remote control and instructions;Digital converter boxes were sold by the millions in 2007-2009 as Americans prepared for a mandated change in Television broadcast from analog to digital. People who did not have a digital compatible television required these conversion boxes, so they could continue to receive a signal on their older tvs. This box can be used to represent the societal and governmental importance placed on television broadcast as a part of free speech, as well as the rapid pace of changing communication technology.
