Full color book features cut-out paper dolls of famous 20th century black entertainers, including Louis Armstrong, Josephine Baker, Dorothy Dandridge, Billie Holiday, Hattie McDaniel, Paul Robeson, Bill Robinson, Bessie Smith, Ethel Waters and Bert Williams. There are brief biographies of each person printed on the inside of the front and back covers.;This book fits into the Museum's existing collection of paper dolls. It also shows that there was a growing interest in depicting important black people to the general public and to children.;The donor acquired this book from the estate of a Chicago artist who incorporated popular culture items like paper dolls into his art work.

The original published editions may be scarce or historically significant.
