This GRPM original exhibit featured toys and games from the museum’s collections in meticulously crafted displays representing childhood in different eras. This interactive, multi-generational exhibition of toys and games is sure to rekindle childhood memories and spark the creation of new ones.

Marilyn Merdzinski was one of the Grand Rapids Public Museum's most influential and longest-serving employees.  She started her career at the GRPM just out of college in 1977 and retired 37 years later in 2015.  During her tenure at the GRPM she held numerous leadership positions in the Collections Department, eventually retiring as the Vice President of Collections.  Among her numerous accomplishments are stewarding the museum's collections safely through several moves, helping to establish the conceptual framework for the new Van Andel Museum Center, becoming a national leader on NAGPRA issues, and helping to found the Museum School.
