Archival Collections ➔ Archival Collection #214 - Clements And Mead Families

Identifier:
2007.39.1
Description:
Archival Collection #214 - Clements And Mead Families collection consists primarily of scrapbooks put together by three generations of women from the same East Grand Rapids family. The scrapbooks span from the lives of three women - from the late 1800s to 1999. They include photographs, invitations, programs, diplomas, registration and dance cards, newspaper articles, and other ephemera that document the families, homes, schools, and community of these women. This collection was given to the donor by Nellie Clements Mead, the last surviving member of the Clements/Mead family. The donor was originally a next-door neighbor and then nurse to both Nellie's until their deaths. The donor kept the collection in her home until 2007 when she was moving out of her home and decided that the collection needed to be preserved.
