This milk crate is shaped like a cube with wooden slats composing four of its sides. The top is open and the bottom and corners are metal. The interior also has a metal frame designed to hold 12 milk bottles. Each of the four wooden sides has a handle cut out of the second slat from the top.;The words "SWARTWOOD DAIRY CADILLAC, MICH" appear to be burned into the exterior of two sides of this crate.;This crate was probably owned by the Swartwood Dairy of Cadillac, Michigan.;This crate was probably used to deliver milk in Cadillac, Michigan.;On one of the interior walls the words "CUMBERLAND CASE CO" are carved as well as some other words which are illegible except for the word "TENN." |
